Khaberni - Informed sources suggest that Prime Minister Dr. Jaafar Hassan will issue an official announcement in the coming days that will determine the date of the Eid al-Fitr holiday and will include a suspension of work in various public sector institutions.
It is expected that the suspension decision will include ministries, government departments, public institutions and bodies, official universities, municipalities, joint service councils, along with the Greater Amman Municipality and companies wholly owned by the government.
According to preliminary estimates, this year's Eid holiday may be shorter compared to some previous years as it is expected to last only about four days, beginning on Thursday, March 19 and ending on Sunday, March 22.
The holiday coincides with the official weekend on Friday and Saturday, making its actual duration relatively limited compared to Eid holidays in previous years, which experienced longer durations.
On the other hand, the announcement is expected to exclude some entities and institutions where the nature of their work requires continuing to offer services during the holiday period, ensuring the continuity of vital facilities and serving citizens.
These dates remain within the framework of expectations until the official announcement is issued by the Prime Minister's Office, which will definitively determine the duration of the holiday and the implementation mechanism in various state institutions.
