Despite its benefits Certain people should completely avoid eating bananas

Khaberni  - According to Dr. Andrei Tyagilnikov, the chief specialist of primary adult care at the Moscow Health Department, bananas are not recommended for patients with kidney issues, diabetes, and irritable bowel syndrome.

According to him, this includes patients with varicose veins and those suffering from complications after a heart attack.

He says, "Although bananas are rich in vitamins, they have strict contraindications. Therefore, it is advised that certain people should completely avoid consuming them or significantly limit their intake. For example, kidney patients, because bananas are high in potassium which is excreted by the kidneys. For patients with chronic kidney diseases or hyperkalemia, consuming them may worsen their condition."

According to him, diabetes patients should avoid eating very ripe yellow bananas with brown spots. This is because the starch in these bananas completely turns into simple sugars, causing a sharp increase in blood glucose levels.

He says, "Bananas are high in soluble fiber and sugar alcohols, which may cause bloating and gas. Therefore, people with irritable bowel syndrome and bacterial overgrowth should avoid them. Caution is also advised for those taking potassium-sparing diuretics and ACE inhibitors. Consuming bananas with other types of food can lead to hyperkalemia."

The doctor notes that, according to some reports, bananas can increase blood viscosity, so it is not recommended for people with varicose veins, thrombophlebitis, or those who have had a heart attack to consume them.
