Khaberni - Informed sources stated that thousands of Kurdish fighters stationed near the Iraqi-Iranian border are preparing to launch an attack within a week, amidst escalating tensions in the region.
According to sources, the Kurdish groups aim to take control of several border towns, including the cities of Oshnavieh and Piranshahr inside Iranian territory.
Kurdish sources indicated that coordination with the United States is stronger than with Israel, although executing a cross-border attack requires aerial support from one of the parties.
An Iranian Kurdish source also explained that Kurdish leaders fear being abandoned as happened with the Kurds in Syria, noting that they have requested guarantees from the United States before any military action.
It was added that the ultimate goal for some of these factions is to establish a semi-autonomous region inside Iran.
