Khaberni - A village in Husseiniya, Sharqia Governorate in Egypt, was shocked after a 31-year-old mother committed a horrifying crime against her four-month-old baby girl by throwing her into a garbage pile and setting it on fire, resulting in the complete incineration of the child's body.
The mother's confessions to the investigative authorities explained that she committed the crime due to an inexplicable hallucination, saying that when she looked at her daughter, she saw her in the form of a «rat» which frightened her, so she decided to set fire and leave the child to burn, then she returned inside the house.
The Husseiniya Prosecutor's Office announced the detention of the mother pending investigations until further inquiry reports are received, and ordered her to be examined by a psychiatrist to determine her mental and psychological health, in addition to directing the criminal investigation to conduct the necessary investigations about the circumstances of the incident.
The security forces received a notification from the Husseiniya police station about finding the girl's body in front of a house in a garbage pile, and immediately the body was secured under the disposition of the public prosecutor.
In questioning the defendant's father, he stated that his daughter had been suffering from psychological issues and was receiving treatment from a specialist in neurology. An official report was filed, and the defendant was referred to the public prosecutor to complete the investigations, with investigations commissioned to uncover all the circumstances and details of the tragic incident.
