Khaberni - United Airlines has announced a strict update to its flight policies, requiring all passengers to wear headphones when playing music or video clips on personal devices, a move that could lead to a permanent ban for offenders.
The new policy, according to "Daily Mail", which has been amended as part of the company's carriage contract, states that any passenger who refuses to use headphones while playing sound from a phone, laptop, or tablet can be removed, with the possibility of being banned from flying with the company in the future.
Travel expert Scott Keyes told CBS, "This update reflects the expectations of the majority of passengers who want a quiet atmosphere inside the aircraft. Usually, only a small number of people make noise, so this method is appropriate for dealing with them."
Passengers who forget their headphones may request a free pair from the flight crew if supplies are available, as indicated by the company on its official website.
This update comes amid increasing complaints from "speaker pilots," who play audio or visual content loudly, creating tension in the cabin and disturbing other passengers.
The new rules serve as a clear warning that offenders may face more severe consequences than just disapproving glances, including being deprived of transport or permanently banned from flying with United.
