Khaberni - The Israeli army announced on Thursday the beginning of a new wave of extensive attacks on Iran, while several explosions occurred in Tehran and its western suburbs.
The Israeli army stated that it "began a wide range of strikes against the infrastructure of the Iranian regime in Tehran".
Several explosions were heard Thursday morning in Tehran and its western surroundings, according to local media, after Israel announced a new series of strikes on the Iranian capital.
Fars agency reported an explosion in west Tehran, while the newspapers Shargh and Iran reported at least one explosion in the city of Karaj, west of the capital.
Early Thursday, the Tasnim Iranian news agency reported hearing several explosions in Tehran, while Iran activated its defenses.
The explosions occurred after Iran launched a new wave of missiles towards Israel early on Thursday.
Since Saturday, Israel and the United States have conducted airstrikes on Iran, killing the Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, and since then, Tehran has retaliated by striking Israel and countries in the region with missiles and drones.
Iran has imposed a maritime blockade on the passage of ships through the Strait of Hormuz and targeted oil tankers attempting to pass through it.
On Sunday, Hezbollah launched several missiles from Lebanon targeting northern Israel; in response to the assassination of Khamenei, drawing Lebanon into an open war with Israel, where it conducted devastating raids on southern Lebanon and the southern suburbs of Beirut.
