Collective Breakfast on a 2000YearOld Bridge Attracts Hundreds in Turkey

Khaberni - A free collective breakfast in Turkey attracted a large number of fasting individuals who were offered a unique breakfast experience on a historic bridge that was built about 2000 years ago.

A sub-municipality in Adana Province, southern Turkey, organized the collective breakfast on the "Taşköprü" or Stone Bridge, which spans the Seyhan River that in turn flows into the Mediterranean Sea.

A video clip showed moments of the sunset with tables filled along the bridge, which is over 300 meters long.

The municipality also organized celebratory events and rituals with the collective breakfast, while a mosque nearby adorned with lights celebrated Ramadan.

The historical setting of the breakfast added a unique touch as collective breakfasts are widespread in Turkey.

The Stone Bridge dates back to the Roman period, it is believed to have been built around 117–120 AD, and serves as a link between the sides of Adana city, symbolizing its historical significance.

The bridge is 310 meters long and 11.40 meters wide, and has undergone numerous restorations through its long history, but it still stands to this day and is among the oldest bridges in the world that are still in use.
