Maguire Sentenced to 15 Months in Prison on Assault and Bribery Charges

Khaberni - A Greek court ruled on Wednesday to sentence Harry Maguire, the English Manchester United player, to 15 months with a suspended sentence due to charges of assault and bribery in an incident that happened in Greece six years ago.

The British network "Sky Sports" stated: Harry Maguire was sentenced to 15 months with a suspended sentence after being convicted by the Greek courts.

It added: Maguire was convicted of the three charges directed against him, which are minor assault, resisting arrest, and attempting bribery, based on an incident that occurred in Mykonos in August 2020.

The British newspaper "Mirror" reported that Maguire's legal team has strived hard to acquit him over the past six years, and the defender did not present himself in court due to his preparations for a Manchester United match against Newcastle on Wednesday.

The judges reduced his original sentence from 21 months to 15 months and 20 days and imposed a fine of 1500 euros (1304 British pounds) on Maguire.
