Israeli Ministry of Finance Israeli Losses Near 3 Billion

Khaberni - The Israeli Ministry of Finance stated on Wednesday that the economic losses caused by the aerial war with Iran could exceed nine billion shekels ($2.93 billion) per week.

Estimates indicate economic losses of about 9.4 billion shekels under the current "red" level restrictions imposed by the Israeli Home Front Command, which restrict movement to workplaces and cause school closures, in addition to the calling up of reserve soldiers.

The Ministry has requested the Home Front Command to shift to the "orange" level, which is less strict on workplaces compared to the "red" level. In this case, the economic losses would reach 4.3 billion shekels per week.

Israel and the United States began bombing Iran on Saturday, leading to a wave of Iranian strikes across Israel and the Middle East, and disrupting energy exports from the Gulf states.

American and Israeli officials have stated that the campaign might continue for weeks.

Schools on the Israeli side will remain closed this week. Gatherings have been prohibited, and most workforce activities are banned except for essential services, as the majority of employees are working from home.

The Israeli economy, which was somewhat affected in the war against Hamas in Gaza, grew 3.1% in 2025. After the ceasefire in October, estimates predicted that growth would exceed 5% in 2026.
