Khaberni - The party of the former Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad denied on Sunday evening, reports that he was killed.
The official Iranian news agency "ILNA" earlier reported that Ahmadinejad, "69 years old," was killed in an airstrike targeting Tehran.
The agency mentioned that he died at his home located in the east of the capital Tehran along with his personal guard.
It has not been possible to independently verify the accuracy of either of the conflicting statements.
A statement published on the website of the "Government of Spring" party ("Dowlat-e Bahar") states "The party hereby announces that the circulated reports of Ahmadinejad's death in the American-Israeli attacks are baseless."
Meanwhile, the Iranian Student News Agency "ISNA" published a statement attributed to Ahmadinejad regarding the death of the Supreme Leader of Iran, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which was reported by official television overnight.
