Khaberni - The Iraqi Ministry of Transportation announced today, Saturday, the closure of Iraqi airspace following the attack on Iran.
The spokesperson for the Ministry of Transportation, Maitham Al-Safi, stated in an official statement that the Ministry had decided to close the Iraqi airspace today, Saturday, due to the attack on Iran, and that this step was preceded by clearing all Iraqi skies of aircraft movement.
The General Directorate of Civil Aviation in Kuwait announced that, due to the current political and military situations in the region and the resultant complete closure of Iranian airspace, it has decided to suspend and cancel all flights from Kuwait to Iran until further notice.
The official spokesperson for the Directorate, Abdullah Al-Rajhi, stated that this decision is in line with the highest international safety standards and in compliance with international protocols under such exceptional circumstances.
Arbil International Airport announced this morning, Saturday, the closure of its airspace and the suspension of flights at the airport until further notice.
The airport administration stated in a declaration that it announces the closure of the airspace and the suspension of flights until further notice at Arbil International Airport, located in the Kurdistan Region of Iraq, in the far north of the country, following the attack on Iran, confirming that the decision comes as a precautionary measure to ensure the safety of passengers and flight crews.
