Clinton on his relationship with Epstein I saw nothing and committed no wrongdoing

Khaberni  - Former U.S. President Bill Clinton confirmed today, Friday, before a House of Representatives investigative committee, during his interrogation regarding his relationships with businessman Jeffrey Epstein, a convicted sex offender, that he had "no idea about the crimes" committed by his former friend.

Clinton stated in his testimony before the committee, "I saw nothing and committed no wrongdoing," emphasizing that even after time passed, "I saw nothing that attracted my attention" and stressed that he had severed his relationship with Jeffrey Epstein more than a decade before his death in prison in 2019.

James Comer, chairman of the Republican-majority committee, which was interrogating Bill Clinton before the session, said he had "many questions" to ask the former president who traveled "at least 27 times" on Epstein's private plane, which in turn had visited the White House "17 times" during his presidency.

Bill Clinton flew on Epstein's plane several times after leaving office. He appears in photos published by the U.S. Department of Justice among millions of documents with women whose faces were obscured. He denied committing any wrongdoing and expressed regret for his relationship with Epstein.

Comer, a Republican representative from Kentucky, stated that the couple are not accused of committing any wrongdoing, but they need to answer questions regarding Epstein's involvement in their charity foundation.

Clinton and his wife agreed to testify near their residence in New York after the House of Representatives threatened to charge them with contempt of Congress for their refusal to cooperate. Some Democrats supported this move.

Bill and Hillary claim that Republicans are using the investigation to shield Trump from any accountability, noting that others involved in the investigation were allowed to provide written statements instead of testifying in person.

Democrats indicated that the committee should also summon Trump, whose name appears frequently in files related to Epstein.

Trump had a relationship with Epstein in the 1990s and the first decade of the millennium before Epstein was convicted in 2008 of soliciting a minor for prostitution.

Democrats also accuse the Department of Justice of withholding records of a woman who accused Trump of sexually assaulting her when she was a minor. The department stated it is reviewing the relevant materials and will release them if necessary.

The department previously stated that the materials it released include unfounded accusations and allegations about Trump, and no criminal charges related to Epstein have been filed against him.

Hillary's Denial

Hillary stated before a congressional committee yesterday, Thursday, that she does not recall ever meeting Epstein and has no information to provide regarding his criminal activities.

Hillary mentioned in a statement before the Oversight Committee in the House of Representatives, "I do not remember ever meeting Mr. Epstein. I never traveled on his plane, nor visited his island, houses, or offices. I have nothing to add in this regard."

Hillary Clinton, the Democratic nominee for president in 2016, accused the Republican-led committee of trying to distract from President Donald Trump's relationships with Epstein, who committed suicide in 2019 while in jail awaiting trial on sex trafficking charges. She said that the Trump administration "weakened" an office in the State Department concerned with combating international sex trafficking.

Initially, Hillary and her husband, former Democratic President Bill Clinton, refused to testify before the House Oversight Committee, but they agreed when lawmakers moved to consider them in contempt of Congress.

The connections with Epstein have tarnished the reputation of several American figures, leading them to resign from their positions. However, only his partner Ghislaine Maxwell faced legal consequences.

Epstein died in prison in 2019 during his trial on charges related to sex trafficking, and his death was ruled a suicide.
