Asian rejects request from AlHussein Irbid

Khaberni - The Asian Football Confederation officially rejected the proposal to transfer the return match between the teams of Al-Hussein and Al-Ahli Qatar in the quarter-finals of the Asian Champions League 2, to Al-Hassan Stadium in Irbid, and decided to adopt Amman International Stadium officially for the meeting, thus settling the organizational debate days before the start of the expected continental encounter.

The Asian decision comes within the framework of compliance with the regulations and standards adopted for hosting knockout stage matches.

The first leg match between the teams will be held in the Qatari capital Doha, at a quarter past nine in the evening next Wednesday, and the rematch will be between the teams at Amman International Stadium specifically at a quarter past nine in the evening on the tenth of March (March) next.

The winner of the Al-Ahli and Al-Hussein Irbid match will meet the winner of the encounter between Al-Nassr Saudi and Al-Wasl UAE in the semifinals scheduled during April (April) next, while the final match from a single encounter will be held on May 16 (May) next.

Previously, Al-Hussein Irbid was eliminated in the first edition from the second round, but in the current edition, it reached the quarter-finals, after surpassing its opponent Esteghlal Tehran away in Dubai 0-1, and return in Amman 2-3.

The ambitions of Jordan's football representative in the tournament do not stop at this stage, as it aims to reach the final scene of the West region and compete for the title, considering it possesses all the technical qualifications to achieve its goal. Al-Hussein team leads the ranking of professional league teams with a total of 34 points, tied on goal difference with Ramtha and has a postponed match against Al-Faisaly team.
