French judiciary pursues coach on charges of luring minors

Khaberni -  The "France Bleu" website reported a major shock that is shaking the corridors of the "Maladrerie Omnisports" (MOS) in Caen, France, following the opening of a judicial investigation against a former coach in the women's sector on charges related to sexual assault and luring minors.

The case began at the end of the 2025 season, when players from the "women's" and "under 16" teams reported inappropriate behavior by their coach.

According to the French site quoting the club president, Thierry Desland, the coach was immediately dismissed and the judicial authorities were notified, where the prosecutor in Caen, Joël Garriq, confirmed that the investigations have been ongoing since July 2025 and currently include "half a dozen" potential victims.

Consequences of the shock:

The France Bleu report pointed out that the coach, who was not yet thirty, had been considered a "model coach" within the club before the scandal erupted.

This incident caused significant damage to the club, resulting in about 30% of the female sector players leaving due to fears and concerns, prompting the management to appoint a specialist in charge of preventing sexual and psychological violence and intensifying awareness campaigns.

A controversial irony:

The same source revealed a detail that has raised many questions: that the coach, after a six-month ban on sports activities (December 2025), actually secured a new position in the city of Nîmes, despite ongoing legal proceedings against him.
