Khaberni - Atletico Madrid advanced to the Round of 16 of the Champions League following their significant victory over the visiting Club Brugge by four goals to one in the second leg of the qualifying round.
The first leg match at Club Brugge ended in a draw (3-3), thus sealing the advancement of the Spanish capital team to the next round after outperforming in the aggregate of the home and away matches.
Alexander Sorloth opened the scoring for Atletico in the 23rd minute, and Joel Ordonez equalized for Brugge at the 36th minute.
With the start of the second half, Johnny Cardoso succeeded in putting his team Atletico back in the lead by scoring the second goal at the 48th minute.
In the 76th minute, Sorloth managed to score his second and the team's third goal. The Norwegian striker confirmed his status as the man of the match by scoring his third goal, a hat-trick, as the Spanish team's fans celebrated their assured advancement to the Round of 16.
