Egypt Official Request to Stop Ramez Level the Beast After Offending Egyptian Symbols

Khaberni - The prominent Egyptian director, Mohamed Nasr, filed an official complaint to the head of the Supreme Council for Media Regulation, Khaled Abdel Aziz, demanding the cessation of the show "Ramez Level the Beast" which is presented by the artist Ramez Jalal.
The controversy in Egypt escalated after the fifth episode aired on Monday of the show "Ramez Level the Beast" which featured the star of Al Ahly, Ahmed Mustafa "Zizo".

In his complaint, director Mohamed Nasr accused the show of exceeding the bounds of decency and public etiquette, through the scene of the "monkey" that was dressed in a red shirt and associated with the Ahly color, with Ramez Jalal telling the monkey "Of course you are Ahly", a gesture considered a direct insult to Al Ahly club and its fans.

The introduction by the artist Ramez Jalal in today’s episode of his show included mockery and bullying of Captain Tarek Yahya, a former star of Zamalek, with implications related to weight.

Mohamed Nasr demanded in the complaint immediate punitive measures to stop what he described as "vulgarity" that targets Egyptian sports symbols for "a handful of dollars", asserting that the content violates community values and public morals.

He also emphasized the need for regulatory authorities to intervene to control the content displayed, even if the program is broadcast from outside Egypt on MBC Egypt channel, as long as it targets the Egyptian audience and offends its national and sportive symbols.

The program "Ramez Level the Beast" is the new version of the series of Ramadan prank shows by Ramez Jalal, and is broadcast daily after Iftar on MBC Egypt channel and other platforms.

Since the airing of the first episode with Asma Jalal, the controversy exploded on social media due to introductions containing personal bullying and offensive bodily implications considered outside the bounds of jest, leading to Asma Jalal announcing legal actions through her lawyer, Nahed Abu Al-Qomsan, demanding the episode be deleted and an apology, considering that what was added in the montage affects her dignity.

Similarly, the episode featuring the actress Hana Zahed faced criticism for addressing personal relationships and past family disputes, and the attack escalated with the Zizo episode, where the monkey scene was linked to Al Ahly, which angered the club's fans and prompted Mohamed Nasr to file the official complaint.
