Khaberni - Minister of Industry, Trade, and Supply Yarub Al-Qudah stated that 300,000 five-liter bottles of olive oil will be supplied to the markets of the two consumer institutions, both civil and military, starting from the end of the current February and during the upcoming March. Moreover, additional quantities will be imported to meet the needs of the citizens, along with other quantities secured from the private sector.
Al-Qudah added on Sunday that the Ministry of Agriculture has given approvals for the import of about 12,000 tons of Tunisian olive oil to meet the market needs and address the shortage caused by the decline in the local production of olive oil, contributing to meeting the citizens' requirements at reasonable prices.
He explained that the two consumer institutions have put in place a mechanism that facilitates the citizen's purchase of imported olive oil from their markets, and avoid the overcrowding that occurred in the past few days, noting that the import operations are continuing under arrangements with the Ministry of Agriculture and the private sector as well.
