Khaberni - Activists widely circulated a clip from an interview with former CIA officer John Kiriakou, where he says that one of his friends, a fellow CIA officer, told him that Trump plans to strike Iran this coming Monday or Tuesday.
Kiriakou said in the circulated clip, "I have a friend, a former CIA officer, who was at the White House this morning talking to his friends. He says a decision has been made to attack Iran on Monday or Tuesday."
He added: "The President yesterday gave the Iranians a 10-day deadline to accept our proposals to end their ballistic missile program, stop enriching uranium, and cease supporting groups in the Middle East like Hamas, Hezbollah, and the Houthis. But he has done this before. He gives you 10 days or two weeks, then attacks just two days later. He believes it keeps everyone on their toes."
Kiriakou relayed that the CIA officer said, "The lines of battle have been drawn, and the anti-war camp includes only J.D. Vance and Tulsi Gabbard. That’s it. The pro-war camp is led by Marco Rubio and includes Pete Hegseth, and now also the Joint Chiefs of Staff."
He added: "I stopped him at this point and said: Wait a minute. In the early days of the Iraq War, the Joint Chiefs of Staff were strongly opposed to the war.
They were always the last ones who wanted to attack because they know what war means. He said to me: Ah, but you forget that Trump replaced all the members of the Joint Chiefs of Staff this year, during the past twelve months, which I had forgotten."
He continued: "Any of these four-star generals who have risen through the ranks and served under Biden, he fired all of them. And he promoted people he knew would be politically loyal to him."
When asked if he thinks this is a distraction from the current scandal? He replied: "Maybe partially, yes."
And activists in the United States widely shared the clip.
