Khaberni - Since its establishment, the Zaha Cultural Center has enhanced its presence in the Jordanian scene by empowering children, youth, and community women, offering various services to support community members, instilling values of creativity and social responsibility, to become a national platform for sustainable entrepreneurial initiatives and projects.
Emerging from this vision, the center adopted the project - Green Wheelz The Green Wheels to embody the convergence of environmental and human dimensions in a comprehensive national project reflecting the spirit of solidarity and collaborative effort.
An idea that started as an initiative... and became a national humanitarian project
The project - Green Wheelz The Green Wheels carries a national and humanitarian message, combining environmental protection, promoting a culture of volunteer work, and supporting children with cerebral palsy within a sustainable model that transforms charitable work into tangible impact.
The idea started back in 2014 when a Jordanian woman, Raeda Subha, initiated a campaign to collect plastic caps to support disabled children, particularly those with cerebral palsy. In 2024, this initiative was handed over to the Zaha Cultural Center, represented by its executive director Rania Subih, transforming it into an inclusive national project based on collecting recyclable plastic bottles and caps, and directing the proceeds to build the first inclusive school for children with cerebral palsy in Amman, within a comprehensive human and environmental vision..
The project encompasses more than just the environmental aspect; it aims to enhance the culture of sorting and recycling, and embed the concepts of the circular and green economy, affirming that sustainability begins with the behavior of each individual. The center has also ensured the participation of various institutions and sections of the Jordanian community in a collective effort that reflects the spirit of belonging and shared responsibility. The project has received an Islamic legal opinion from the Jordanian General Iftaa Department and blessings from the Council of Heads of Churches in Jordan.
Starting from childhood... and instilling the culture of giving
The project chose to begin its journey starting from the children of Jordan from early childhood, reaching all age groups, believing that the values ingrained in youth grow with its people. Thus, "love of giving" was the first value the project sought to enhance, along with spreading the culture of volunteer work and establishing the concept of "community charity," where every individual can contribute in their own way, even if minimally..
With this approach, children have become ambassadors for the environment in their homes and schools, and each cap and plastic bottle has become a message of awareness and responsibility..
National partnerships and extensive support
The project - Green Wheelz The Green Wheels has received wide support from national institutions, notably the Greater Amman Municipality which allocated a plot of land for the school for children with cerebral palsy, and the company Talabat which helped deliver its message to households. Ministries of Environment, Health, Education, and Local Administration have also contributed to expanding its scope, and various media agencies have played a significant role in spreading its message..
An open invitation to every home in the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan
Today, the project - Green Wheelz The Green Wheels is no longer just an environmental initiative; it has become a community project that makes a real difference, where every cap and plastic bottle contributes to building the first school for children with cerebral palsy in Amman, and bringing children closer to better opportunities..
This complements the "Zaha Volunteering Platform," the first Arabic platform dedicated to ages 3 and above — implemented with the efforts of Zaha teams and university students, and supported by programming coaches at the Zaha Cultural Center.
Its official launch coincided with the holy month of Ramadan, a month of beneficence, aimed at enhancing the culture of volunteer work and embedding the project's message in serving the community and developing the spirit of giving across all age groups..
Our motto: "Press it and donate it".
