Khaberni - After previously causing a stir with her talk about organ donation after death, Egyptian artist Ilham Shaheen is once again calling for the activation of the organ donation law, and she has also called for the establishment of a human skin bank.
The Egyptian star posted photos on her Instagram account from her visit to the "People of Egypt" charitable burn treatment hospital, commenting: "In the month of charity.. the holy month of Ramadan.. we all pray to God to alleviate the pain of all those who are suffering.. and especially burn victims, as their pain is most severe.".
She continued: "May God ease their suffering and heal them", while she offered a greeting of respect to the staff of the charitable hospital treating patients for free.
Message to the House of Representatives
Moreover, the artist addressed the issue of organ donation by sending a message to the House of Representatives, stating: "I hope and wish from the esteemed House of Representatives to activate the organ donation law for those interested", and added: "We need to have a human skin bank that can be used in skin graft operations for severe burns.. and for your information, donating organs after death becomes an ongoing charity on the soul of the deceased and this law is practiced in all developed countries.".
This is not the first time
It is worth noting that this is not the first time Ilham Shaheen has addressed the issue of organ donation. In 2021, she called for it, causing a major stir after announcing her decision to donate her organs after her death and urging everyone to take the same stance.
She confirmed in a previous interview regarding the reactions she received about the matter, that they were "very positive".
She explained that she received messages through the "WhatsApp" application which were very supportive of what she mentioned, pointing out that doctors who perform liver transplant surgeries had contacted her and expressed their support for the initiative.
She said that "the doctors thanked her, especially since the initiative is a beautiful humanitarian gesture", noting that religious scholars also supported the initiative, with the well-known Sheikh Khaled Al-Gendy announcing his readiness to donate his organs after his death.
Regarding the negative reactions, Ilham Shaheen confirmed that she does not read them and does not pay attention to their opinions or pays attention to them, saying "How will it affect me.. and how will it benefit me.. I am not concerned about any ignorant or mentally ill person."
She affirmed that she is moving forward on her path without caring about anyone, indicating that she has instructed her siblings and their children to take care of her will.
The Egyptian artist revealed that the Egyptian state had approved organ donation, pointing out that there is a bill since 2010 that has not been activated.
