AlQudah Decrease in drug cases reflects effectiveness of security strategy

Khaberni - The Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, Brigadier General Hassan Al-Qudah, confirmed that the number of drug cases detected last year recorded a decrease compared to the preceding year, indicating that this decline reflects the effectiveness of the enhanced security strategy in pursuing criminal networks and reducing smuggling and promotion operations.
Al-Qudah stated, during the meeting today, Tuesday, at the Family Protection Association in Irbid, which included the retired Majors General Tayel Al-Majali and Anwar Al-Tarawneh, and the president of the association, Kadhim Al-Kafiri, that the unstable security conditions in some neighboring countries have contributed to the influx of drugs into Jordan, posing a continuous challenge to the relevant authorities, noting the ongoing seizure of large quantities of Captagon pills despite the decline in most quantities of seized drugs.
Al-Qudah emphasized that combating drugs is a national and community shared responsibility that requires ongoing coordination between security services, official institutions, and civil society, and strengthening preventive and awareness efforts to protect society and maintain its security and stability.
Al-Majali and Al-Tarawneh stressed the importance of updating security confrontation methods and enhancing intelligence and fieldwork, with a focus on prevention programs targeted at the youth and families.
For his part, Al-Kafiri emphasized the necessity of involving the family and the school in prevention programs, while Hadeel Al-Ghraibeh, the Director of Media and Communication at the Association, explained that next year's plan includes launching school awareness programs, training courses for parents, and ongoing community campaigns in cooperation with official entities and civil society.
