Khaberni - The spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate stated that the civil defense personnel in Aqaba governorate dealt this evening with a report of (12) people experiencing respiratory distress in the Southern Industrial Area in Aqaba governorate.
Preliminary examinations and investigations indicated that the cause was due to an increase in dust concentration in the air, loaded with factory emissions, without detecting any leakage of any substance within the complex. The affected individuals were administered first aid and transported to Prince Hashim Military Hospital, and their conditions were described as between good and moderate.
The spokesperson added that specialized joint teams from the civil defense, the Aqaba Special Economic Zone Authority, the Port Authority Management, and the civil defense hazardous materials team conducted necessary examinations and inspected all factories, confirming that there was no leakage of any hazardous materials.
