Restaurant and Confectionery Sector Ready for Ramadan

Khaberni  - The guild leader of restaurant and sweet shop owners, Omar Al-Awad, confirmed Tuesday the readiness of both restaurant and confectionery sectors to welcome the holy month of Ramadan, pointing out that preparations are complete to provide comprehensive services during the meals of Iftar and Suhoor, in addition to offering a wide variety of Ramadan sweets and various beverages, and providing family seating and comprehensive Ramadan programs that meet the needs of families.

Al-Awad explained that the establishments in both sectors are committed to preparing meals that provide sufficiency for the fasting individuals, while ensuring that the prices are affordable for all, through various offers that meet the requirements of families during the holy month.

He stated that the sector has finished its preparations in terms of operational and logistical readiness, pointing out that Ramadan is a major season for business and commercial activity compared to other months of the year.

He expressed hope that the season will witness good turnout that will help boost commercial activity and compensate for the decline the sector has seen since the start of the winter, which affected the performance of a number of facilities.

Al-Awad mentioned that the demand for Iftar meals at restaurants is usually limited in the early days of the month and until the middle of it, as many families prefer to prepare Iftar meals at home, in addition to the popularity of homemade traditional dishes during this period. Conversely, commercial activity intensifies in the second half of Ramadan with the increase in family feasts and gatherings, along with preparations for Eid al-Fitr, which positively reflects on the demand in various types of restaurants, including banquet restaurants, meat and poultry, and fast food as well.

The guild leader of restaurant and sweet shop owners confirmed that the guild communicated with facility owners to emphasize compliance with the highest standards of cleanliness, public safety, and quality, and to enhance competitiveness, which contributes to improving the level of services provided and offering the best meals to citizens during the holy month.
