Khaberni - Petra University celebrated the graduation of its students in the first semester of the thirty-second cohort for the academic year 2025/2026, under the patronage of the university president Professor Dr. Rami Abdul Rahim.
The ceremony was held in the sports hall of the Dean of Student Affairs, attended by trustees board members Professor Dr. Bashir Al-Zu'bi and Professor Dr. Mohamed Mo'touq Abu Dieh, as well as a number of members from the academic and administrative bodies and the graduates' families.
In his speech, the university president, Professor Dr. Rami Abdul Rahim, highlighted the university's recent achievements, noting its entry into the "Times" and "QS" (QS) global rankings in 2025, its improvement in "Green Metric" and "Scimago" rankings, and its placement among the top 18% of Arab universities.
He added that the university achieved successes on both regional and local levels; it ranked first and received the gold level in the Emirates Energy Award, and signed more than forty international and local memoranda of understanding. Nationally, it was first to gain the Jordanian accreditation for academic programs in the fields of: Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Computer Science, Information Security, Software Engineering, Mathematics, Arabic Language, and Chemistry.
Abdul Rahim congratulated the graduates' families, considering that their sown efforts and humanitarian projects would benefit them in this life and would be a treasure in the hereafter, and said: "Today is the harvest season, so congratulations on this yield, and congratulations on crowning your children with the crown of knowledge and learning".
He wished the graduates a bright future filled with accomplishments, assuring that the university has provided everything it could to graduate a generation armed with knowledge and learning, and addressed them saying: "We have tried through you to light the candle, so light more candles".
On his part, the Dean of Student Affairs, the chair of the graduation committee, Professor Dr. Eyad Al-Malah, mentioned that the university prepared all necessary arrangements to ensure the ceremony was carried out in the best possible manner, pointing out that the number of graduates reached four hundred and twenty-four students, and emphasized that the role of the dean's office does not stop with the students' graduation, and added:
"The dean's office, during the students' study period, provides a supportive university environment that develops their skills and personalities, and this care extends beyond graduation through the alumni affairs office".
Graduate Sadeen Al-Qadi delivered the first period graduates' speech, describing the university as "not just halls and laboratories, but a small homeland embracing dreams", adding that she learned that "knowledge is not just texts to be memorized, but a trust to be guarded and a message to be delivered", and reminded of the role of professors as partners in success and builders of minds.
Graduate Amani Abu Al-Anin considered that the lectures were not just rote learning, but were "a test of maturity, training in patience, and practice in the essence of life", and sent a thank you message to the university professors saying: "You were the light when the paths were dark, and you opened for us windows of thought, and instilled in us the respect for intellect".
Both speakers dedicated words of gratitude to the families, as Al-Qadi said: "Look at us, this is the garment of your patience, and this joy of your sacrifices", while Abu Al-Anin described the effort of the fathers and mothers as "fragrance in the journey, and honest support in every success", assuring that the graduates are the product of their prayers and sincere hearts.
The speeches concluded with messages of hope and belonging; Al-Qadi dedicated the success to "the noble martyrs' souls in Gaza, who were denied this moment", pledging loyalty to the university's mission, while Abu Al-Anin affirmed that the graduates leave the university "in body, and remain with it in spirit and loyalty", carrying the trust of the nation, and a generation that raises its voice by action, not by noise.
During the "Success Story" segment, the university hosted presenter Firas Al-Jamal, a 2009 graduate of the Faculty of Administrative and Financial Sciences (major in Financial Sciences and Banking), from Jordan TV and Radio "Ain", who reviewed his career journey that began as a cashier, then moved to the banking sector, and eventually to media work in the "Kingdom Channel" and "beIN SPORTS" (beIN SPORTS) covering the World Cup, before returning to Jordan TV.
Al-Jamal urged graduates to find the place where they thrive, saying: "Find the place where your abilities flourish, and do not let circumstances convince you that you are less than you deserve".
Additionally, the founder of the digital insurance company "Yasmina", Masoud Al-Halou, showcased his story as a 2010 graduate of the Faculty of Information Technology, explaining his transition from working in local companies to being a Product Manager at "Expedia" (Expedia) in the United States, then a manager at the "Maersk" (Maersk) company in Denmark, before returning to the region to establish his own company.
Al-Halou summarized his work experience with an invitation to the graduates not to wait for the ideal job, saying: "Leadership is not to walk in front of everyone, but to walk among them. Start with what you have, where you are, with what you know today."
