Khaberni - Variety magazine said today, Monday, that the American actor Robert Duvall, who was known for his roles in films such as (Godfather) or "The Godfather" and (Apocalypse Now) or "The Present Now," died at the age of 95.
According to a statement issued by his public relations agency on behalf of his wife Luciana, the American actor Robert Duvall died "peacefully" on Sunday at his home in Middleburg, Virginia.
Duvall was famous for his unforgettable role as an advisor to the Corleone family in the film "The Godfather" directed by Francis Ford Coppola in 1972, a role that earned him his first of seven Oscar nominations, before he reprised it in the second part in 1974, and then refused to participate in the third part after a dispute over payment.
It should be noted that Duvall was born in San Diego, California, where his father was a professional naval officer. Duvall played a variety of roles ranging from cowboys to military men.
He also served in the army during the Korean War before moving to New York and studying drama under the supervision of the famous acting coach Sanford Meisner, where he shared accommodation with Dustin Hoffman and spent some time with Gene Hackman.
