A New Technological Leap The Creation of a Robot Capable of Interacting Like Humans

Khaberni - Chinese robotics company DroidUp has unveiled its new innovation, the "Moya" robot, which is the first of its kind to combine machine intelligence with emotional response capabilities.

The "Moya" robot is viewed as an important step toward bridging the gap between humans and machines, as it aims to enable humanoid robots to interact with humans more realistically.

However, experts affirm that work is still in its early stages before the robot becomes truly human-like in all aspects, including emotional understanding and complex behaviors.

This innovation is part of the efforts of leading Chinese companies in the field of artificial intelligence and robotics to enhance machine capabilities for social interaction and adaptation to human environments.

Human-like form
The company announced the robot named Moya, which is not just a cold metal machine, but possesses a structure similar to the human body and a surface temperature between 32 and 36 degrees Celsius, which is close to the temperature of the human body.

This design aims to make the interaction between humans and the robot more natural and comfortable, as touch and physical warmth play a role in feeling closeness and communication.

The robot is about 165 cm tall and weighs approximately 32 kg, available in versions representing both male and female forms, and uses AI-equipped cameras that help it recognize people and interact with them in ways that include expressing itself through facial expressions and movements similar to humans.

Future capabilities and applications
According to the company, Moya can be used in multiple areas including public services, education, healthcare, and even as a companion to alleviate social loneliness for the elderly or people living alone.

The artificial intelligence and cameras within the robot's eyes enable it to recognize faces and interact instantaneously, giving it the ability to respond to simple human situations through movements and facial expressions that appear more biological than mechanical.

Mixed reactions
Although the company claims that Moya's walking resembles human walking up to 92%, the reactions on social media have been mixed.

Some expressed admiration for this technological step, while others described its walk and face as unnatural or frightening, as something that looks human-like can be unsettling.

Upcoming challenges
DroidUp plans to commercially launch the robot before the end of this year, but at a high price of about $173,000 USD, meaning it will initially be employed in large organizations instead of home use.
