Khaberni - Kuwait inaugurated today, in partnership with China, the Naif factory for light ammunition, which is the first of its kind at the country level to enhance its defense capabilities.
Sheikh Ahmad Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, the Prime Minister of Kuwait, attended the opening of the factory, and during his field tour, he listened to a brief explanation about the factory which represents the first experience for the Ministry of Defense in the field of ammunition manufacturing in the State of Kuwait.
The Prime Minister was also briefed on the production stages and mechanisms according to the highest standards of quality and safety, in compliance with the requirements of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO) for the manufacture of light ammunition.
Al-Sabah affirmed that the factory is a strategic addition to the country's defense capabilities and reflects the state's firm commitment to enhancing its security and military system according to the highest technical standards.
In a related context, he praised the efforts of all national cadres who completed the project and expressed his confidence in their ability to operate and manage it, emphasizing that it represents a new step towards enhancing the security of the homeland and preserving its stability and the safety of its territories.
For his part, Leo Qiang, the Chinese Consul in the State of Kuwait, delivered a speech in which he praised the historical relations between the two friendly countries, adding that the establishment of the light ammunition factory contributes to elevating the strategic partnership to a higher level between the People’s Republic of China and the State of Kuwait.
In turn, Ji Wei, the CEO of North China Industries (Norinco), said in his speech that this factory stands as a vivid witness towards building an independent and sustainable national defense industry, affirming the continuation of work with Kuwaiti partners to produce high-quality ammunition alongside transferring managerial and technical expertise and training national cadres.
