Kuwait faces the toughest day since the start of the war

Khaberni  - Kuwait announced on Sunday that a fire broke out at an oil complex and significant damage occurred at a ministry complex and two electricity generation stations due to attacks with rockets and drones attributed to Iran.

These are the most violent attacks on civilian facilities in Kuwait since the beginning of the American-Israeli war on Iran.

The Kuwait Petroleum Corporation announced in a statement reported by the official news agency "KUNA" that "a fire broke out in the oil sector complex in Shuwaikh city following an attack with drones".

The corporation added, "Emergency teams immediately dealt with the fire without resulting in any human casualties."

In a later development, the Kuwaiti Finance Ministry announced that the ministry complex in Kuwait City was targeted by an Iranian drone, causing significant material damage to the building, but no human injuries were recorded.

Remote Work

The ministry stated in a statement that it has decided that the work on Sunday would be remote for the employees of the ministerial complex and postponed the reception of clients.

In a third attack, the Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy in Kuwait announced that two power and distillation stations were targeted by Iranian drones.

The spokeswoman for the ministry Fatima Hayat said: "Two units of the power generation went out of service after two power and distillation stations were targeted by hostile drones as a result of the sinful Iranian aggression."

She added: "The attack resulted in significant material damage, with no human casualties.. Technical and emergency teams commenced their work as per emergency plans."

Hostile Rockets and Drones

The Kuwaiti military had announced in two separate statements on early Sunday, about intercepting rocket attacks and "hostile" drones.

As of the time of writing this news, no official comment from Iran has been made regarding those attacks.

Earlier, on Saturday, limited parts of areas belonging to Jahra Governorate experienced a power outage due to a primary transformation station going out of service, according to the ministry.

The recent attacks come amid escalating tensions in the American-Israeli war on Iran, which entered its sixth week. Tehran is responding by targeting Israel and Gulf countries, which are said to host US military bases, resulting in casualties and damage to civilian facilities.
