The Israeli Occupation Arrests the Imam of AlAqsa Mosque

Khaberni - The Israeli occupation police arrested, on Monday evening, Sheikh Mohammed Ali Al-Abbasi, the Imam of the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, from inside the Al-Aqsa courtyards in occupied Jerusalem.

Palestinian sources reported that the occupation forces detained Sheikh Al-Abbasi inside the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque, without the reasons for the arrest or the nature of the procedures taken against him being known.

This arrest comes amid escalating measures by the occupation against the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque, which include restrictions on imams, preachers, and those stationed at the mosque, and imposing restrictions on the entry of worshippers, alongside intensified incursions carried out by settlers under heavy protection from the occupation police.

The city of occupied Jerusalem, especially the Old City and the vicinity of Al-Aqsa Mosque, is witnessing escalating tensions amidst the stringent security measures imposed by the occupation authorities, accompanied by arrests and deportations against religious figures and activists from Jerusalem.
