AlShawarbeh Ready to share our expertise and capabilities with Syria

Khaberni  - Mayor of the Greater Amman Municipality, Dr. Youssef Al-Shawarbeh, met in his office today, Monday, with the president of the Syrian Investment Authority, engineer Talal Hallali, and the accompanying delegation, in the presence of the City Manager of Amman, engineer Nabil Al-Jariri, and the CEO of Amman Vision for Investment and Development, Mustafa Abu Ghoush.

The two parties discussed ways to enhance bilateral cooperation and joint work and exchange expertise in the fields of urban development and investment promotion.

During the meeting, Al-Shawarbeh emphasized the deep historical and fraternal relations between Jordan and Syria, based on mutual cooperation.

He stated that the Amman Municipality aims to improve the level of services provided to the city of Amman, especially in the areas of urban planning, sustainability, digital services, and infrastructure, pointing to the municipality's experience in establishing Amman Vision for Investment and Development, the municipality's investment arm, which focuses on investment, transport, waste management, and treatment.

Al-Shawarbeh clarified that the Municipality, in line with the Royal High Directives, is implementing a strategic plan for the years 2022-2026, which is integrated with the national strategies and supports the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals and global competitiveness indicators, aimed at improving the quality of life for residents, enhancing infrastructure and the environment, and creating an integrated investment system that contributes to stimulating economic growth and creating job opportunities.

He confirmed Amman Municipality's readiness to share all available expertise and capabilities with brotherly Syria, and to provide necessary support, and expand cooperation scopes especially in the fields of digital transformation, smart transport, urban planning, waste management and treatment, in addition to green public spaces, parks, and other areas of joint work, especially considering the municipality's experience in local management, urban planning, and digital transformation as a successful model in sustainable urban development.

The CEO of Amman Vision presented an introduction highlighting Amman Vision, the investment arm of Amman Municipality, its areas of operation, and the projects implemented in the fields of urban development and infrastructure, in addition to the strategic framework from which the company starts, aligned with Amman's comprehensive plan in the logistics services sectors, food industries, and supply chains.

In turn, Hallali praised the level of development achieved by Amman, the efforts of the municipality and its projects to improve the service level and quality of life for citizens.

He expressed the Syrian side's keenness to expand the horizons of cooperation and partnership with Amman Municipality, benefit from its successful experiences in the fields of solid waste management, smart transport, municipal digital transformation, modern urban planning, public spaces, and parks, and exchange expertise and experiences to serve citizens.
