Khaberni - Dr. Daria Budtchininova, an endocrinology specialist, indicates that sharp temperature changes can cause myocardial infarction or a cerebral stroke in individuals affected by weather variations.
According to her, if one experiences severe headaches or numbness in the face or limbs, or has problems with speech or vision, it is crucial to immediately call an ambulance.
She says, "The body, especially the heart and blood vessels, undergoes stress during sharp weather fluctuations. Concerning symptoms include a sudden and severe headache, different from usual headaches, severe weakness, and numbness in the face or an arm or leg, especially on one side of the body, and facial asymmetry. Speech disturbances, such as slurred speech, feeling a sticky lump in the mouth, and difficulty finding the right words are considered serious."
According to her, the dangerous signs include sudden vision loss, double vision or seeing a haze or spots before the eyes, intense squeezing pain behind the sternum extending to the left arm, shoulder blade, or jaw, and severe shortness of breath. The warning signs also include a sharp rise in blood pressure unresponsive to usual medications, severe dizziness with loss of balance, and irregular heartbeat with blurred vision.
She says, "All these symptoms may indicate myocardial infarction, cerebral stroke, or a hypertensive crisis that requires immediate contact with emergency services."
The doctor points out that it is important to consult a doctor regularly if a person is unable to work due to weather sensitivity, symptoms last more than 24 hours, and the condition does not improve with usual measures. It is also advisable to seek medical advice if insomnia, panic attacks, unexplained anxiety, or depression due to weather changes persist.
