Hassan lays the foundation stone for a new building at Prince Faisal Hospital in Russeifa

Khaberni - Today, Sunday, Prime Minister Dr. Jafar Hassan laid the foundation stone for the new building project at Prince Faisal Hospital in the Russeifa district of Zarqa Governorate, signaling the start of its implementation on a total area of more than 5700 square meters, equivalent to the area of the existing hospital, which will also undergo comprehensive rehabilitation as soon as the new building is completed.

The implementation of the new building is part of the government's efforts to develop the infrastructure of the health sector and enhance the efficiency of services provided to citizens through comprehensive development projects aimed at improving the quality of healthcare services and expanding their scope in various governorates.

The project will be implemented at a cost estimated at nine million dinars, funded by the Saudi Fund for Development, within the framework of the developmental cooperation between the two brotherly countries and the Fund's support for the healthcare sector in the Kingdom, with the foundation stone laid in the presence of the Saudi Ambassador to the Kingdom, His Highness Prince Mansour bin Khalid bin Farhan Al Saud, and the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al Marshad.

The Prime Minister expressed Jordan's appreciation for the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in supporting development in the Kingdom, and for the role of the Saudi Fund for Development in financing the new building project at Prince Faisal Hospital, among other projects in the healthcare sector.

The Prime Minister, in the presence of the Minister of Health Dr. Ibrahim Al Badour, received a briefing about the project, which constitutes a qualitative expansion for Prince Faisal Hospital. The project will be completed in three phases, distributed over four floors. One entire floor will be designated for intensive and cardiac care with an area of 1550 square meters, an emergency floor with an area of 1303 square meters, an advanced surgical operations floor with an area of 1660 square meters, and a floor for the educational department and support services with an area of 1270 square meters.

The Minister of Health said that the new building, which will be completed in all three phases within three years, will bring a qualitative shift in the level of services provided within the hospital. It will create specialized infrastructure capable of conducting more surgical operations, enhancing intensive and cardiac care services, as well as developing emergency services, which will positively reflect on the speed of response to emergency and critical cases, improve the experience of visitors, and enhance the safety and quality of healthcare.

In turn, the CEO of the Saudi Fund for Development, Sultan bin Abdulrahman Al Marshad, confirmed that the expansion project of Prince Faisal Hospital will contribute to the development of medical infrastructure, enhance vital departments, and improve the work environment and service, ensuring operational continuity and elevating the quality of healthcare provided in the Kingdom according to the best standards, as part of the continuous developmental cooperation between Jordan and Saudi Arabia spanning more than 48 years.

The Prime Minister had inspected the hospital as part of his field inspection tours, where he affirmed that the government would expedite the expansion procedures for the hospital, which serves a wide segment of citizens; just as necessary maintenance work for a number of facilities was carried out following that visit.

Following the Prime Minister's inspection visit, the hospital was staffed according to the actual need with medical, nursing, administrative, and auxiliary professions personnel, which contributed to enhancing operational readiness and improving the level of service there. This included immediate and necessary maintenance including radiology, ambulance, and emergency departments, improvement of entrances and external courtyards, re-qualification and operation of the nursery for employees’ children, in addition to taking the necessary measures for hospital accreditation for teaching, which allows hosting trainee students from universities. The existing hospital building will undergo comprehensive rehabilitation and modernization of all its departments.
And the governor of Zarqa, Firas Abu Qa'oud, attended the laying of the foundation stone.
