Khaberni - The Eastern Military Area thwarted early Sunday on its front, ten attempts to smuggle large quantities of drugs loaded by electronically guided balloons, launched simultaneously to disperse the efforts of the border guard units and escape monitoring.
The border guard units, through precise monitoring and coordination with the military security forces and the Anti-Narcotics Department, managed to thwart all attempts at different locations; the balloons and their loads were dealt with and dropped within Jordanian territory, and the seized items were transferred to the relevant authorities to take the necessary actions.
The Jordanian Armed Forces confirmed that they are continuing to leverage their capabilities and resources to prevent all forms of infiltration and smuggling operations to maintain the security and stability of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan.
