Israeli airstrikes and artillery shelling target northern Gaza Strip

Khaberni - The Israeli occupation army launched air raids and artillery shelling on areas in the northern Gaza Strip on Saturday evening, resulting in the injury of 3 Palestinians.

Eyewitnesses told the Anadolu Agency that Israeli warplanes and artillery targeted the Sheikh Zayed area east of Beit Lahia in the north of the Strip, coinciding with heavy gunfire from military helicopters in the skies of the area.

Meanwhile, medical sources reported that an elderly man was shot by the occupation in Al-Manshiya area in Beit Lahia, and two other Palestinians were shot by the occupation in the Jabalia camp in the northern Strip.

No immediate comment was issued by the Israeli army regarding the raids or their motives, while residents reported hearing explosions in various parts of the northern Strip, in areas controlled by the army.

This comes as part of Israel's ongoing breaches of the ceasefire agreement in effect since October 10, 2025, following the withdrawal of the occupation army from the positions and populated areas in the Strip, and the beginning of the return of the displaced to the north of the Strip, as part of the first phase of President Donald Trump's initiative to end the war on Gaza.

The ceasefire agreement ended a genocide war started by Israel on October 8, 2023, which lasted two years, and left more than 72,000 Palestinian martyrs and over 171,000 wounded, with massive destruction affecting 90% of civilian infrastructure at a reconstruction cost estimated by the United Nations at about 70 billion dollars.
