Khaberni - Russian doctor Dmitry Korolov, a specialist in urology and andrology, recommended that men over the age of forty carry out some important medical tests and analyses to maintain their reproductive health.
His recommendations, given on the occasion of World Reproductive Health Day on February 12, include: testing for total and free testosterone levels, as well as checking blood sugar levels, and hemoglobin levels, as all these factors affect the health of the male organ and fertility in men.
The doctor also emphasized the importance of testing thyroid hormones, alongside analyzing biomarkers for tumors, and foremost among these is the "Prostate-Specific Antigen" (PSA), which is the most relied upon in diagnosing prostate diseases and urinary tract tumors.
In addition to laboratory analyses, Korolov advised men over forty to undergo regular rectal exams by a urologist for early detection of any prostate enlargement that might indicate benign or malignant tumors.
Health experts recommend that men over forty maintain their physical fitness, avoid obesity, follow a healthy diet, stay away from smoking and alcohol consumption, and monitor their blood pressure levels to maintain their reproductive health.
