Khaberni - As artificial intelligence applications speed up to encompass various aspects of daily life, Google continues to explore new horizons for this technology, but this time through the kitchen.
Google Labs has launched an innovative experiment called "Food Mood," an AI-powered tool designed to create recipes that blend different cuisines and cultures into one dish. The service presents itself as an interactive recipe generator that allows users to design their meals according to their preferences, specifying the type of meal, whether it's an appetizer, main course, or dessert, and also choosing the number of people, along with selecting two world cuisines to merge into a new recipe.
Innovative Recipes at the Click of a Button
The tool operates via a simple user interface, where simply entering the desired options and pressing the recipe preparation button suggests a complete dish that includes a detailed description of the ingredients and the preparation method.
During a practical test of the tool, the "Thomas Guide" website managed to create a series of non-traditional recipes, proposing in one attempt a soup that blends Algerian and Somali flavors called "Harira Paris," based on mixing North African spices with ingredients from the Horn of Africa cuisine.
In another experiment, the application offered an innovative dessert recipe that blends influences from polar regions and remote American islands, in a mix that combines tropical and cold flavors, reflecting the tool's ability to produce unusual but coherent recipes in terms of concept and ingredients.
In a more practical trial, the application successfully created a main dish that blends Jamaican and Japanese cuisines, where it suggested "Jerky Teriyaki Salmon with Coconut Rice," a combination that mixes spicy flavors with Asian sauces, making it a viable dish for home kitchens.
Details that Help in Cooking
The "Food Mood" function not only suggests ideas but also provides a detailed list of ingredients and step-by-step preparation instructions, along with additional tips to enhance flavor and presentation.
The tool also allows users to explore additional information about the ingredients used, such as learning about different types of olive oil or the uses of herbs and spices, transforming the cooking experience into an interactive educational space.
Artificial Intelligence Invades the Kitchen
The "Food Mood" experiment is part of a series of experimental projects developed by Google's Arts and Culture lab, aiming to employ artificial intelligence in creative and everyday fields, including arts and cooking.
Observers believe that such applications might reshape how users interact with food, by presenting new ideas that help diversify meals and simplify the process of dietary planning, especially with the increasing reliance on digital tools in managing daily life details.
