England to face New Zealand and Costa Rica in friendlies in preparation for the World Cup

Khaberni - The English Football Association announced on Wednesday that the national team will face New Zealand and Costa Rica in Florida in June as part of its preparations for the 2026 World Cup.

Thomas Tuchel's team will face New Zealand on June 6th before facing Costa Rica on the 10th of the same month, with the association to announce the venues of the matches at a later date.
England has not faced Costa Rica since a friendly win in 2018, and the two teams also met in the 2014 World Cup when the match ended in a goalless draw.

The last match that brought England together with the New Zealand team, which also qualified for the World Cup, was in 1991. New Zealand lost two friendlies in Auckland and Wellington.

England is in Group 12 at the 2026 World Cup, which includes Croatia, Ghana, and Panama. The tournament kicks off on June 11th.
