Egypt Alimony lawsuit against Egyptian player Tarek Hamed

Khaberni - The wife of the Egyptian player Tarek Hamed has filed an alimony lawsuit before the Family Court in New Cairo, accusing him of refusing to provide for her.

According to the lawsuit documents, which bear the number 274 for the year 2026, the wife confirmed that she is still married to the player since their marriage on August 17, 2011, and has children with him, pointing out that he has abandoned her for more than five months without providing for her basic needs, despite her repeated attempts to resolve the matter amicably.

She explained that her husband has significant financial solvency, due to his professional career that has seen him transfer between prominent clubs both inside and outside of Egypt, with contracts worth millions of pounds and dollars, according to the lawsuit papers.

The wife based her lawsuit on the provisions of Islamic Sharia and Egyptian law, particularly Law No. 25 of 1929, which obligates a husband to provide alimony to his wife, asserting that his refusal gives her the right to resort to the courts to claim her dues.

She also mentioned that she had applied to the Family Dispute Resolution Office in New Cairo in an attempt to settle the dispute amicably, but those efforts were unsuccessful, prompting her to take legal steps and file the lawsuit before the competent court.
