Who succeeds the deputy if the seat is a youth seat according to Article 58 of the Election Law
The matter is settled by Article 58 of the Election Law for the House of Representatives number 4 for the year 2022 with explicit text, which states:
Article 58
A If any seat of the general electoral district becomes vacant for any reason, it will be filled by the candidate who directly follows the winning candidate in his list according to the order of the votes in the same list.
B If the vacant seat is designated for women or youth, it shall be filled by the candidate who directly follows the winning candidate of the same category in the same list and if this is not possible, the provisions of paragraph A of this article shall apply.
By applying this text, if the vacant seat is a youth seat, then the youth candidate who immediately follows him in the same list, according to the official order approved by the Independent Election Commission, will succeed him, and it is legally not permissible to override this restriction unless there is no candidate available from the same category, and then only the general rule stated in paragraph A is applied.
The procedure begins by contacting the Independent Electoral Commission to confirm the vacancy, then applying Article 58 and notifying the House of Representatives of the legally entitled name to complete the constitutional procedures, thus the reference to the legal text is exclusively without any interpretation outside its framework.
