Khaberni - Government Communication Minister, the official spokesperson Mohammad Al-Momani, affirmed that Jordan, true to its nature and habit, stands by its Arab brothers, supporting every cause, backing any effort, enhancing every step, and contributing with its expertise and programs to the policies of the Arab states in the field of cooperation and media coordination.
Al-Momani chaired the Jordanian delegation participating in the discussions of the twenty-second regular session of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information, hosted by Kuwait. The delegation included the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Government Communication Zaid Al-Nawaiseh, and the media advisor at the Jordanian mission to the Arab League, Alaa Al-Ziyoud.
Al-Momani, in a speech during the opening session, pointed out that Jordan sees the efforts of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information as an opportunity to do everything possible to work closely and intimately with its brothers to face challenges, handle crises, and keep up with developments in media technology, which have become a major driver in awareness due to the rapid pace, posing a time challenge to Arab countries and future generations, especially as communication, media, and artificial intelligence have become central. This imposes the need for integration as the basis of action among Arab states to protect their media system and fortify Arab youth while enhancing the image of our Arab identity and culture.
He emphasized the current situation facing the Arab and Islamic nations, which storms the consciousness of its generations and affects its issues, requires greater cooperation in effort, more vision alignment, and closer step agreements to accelerate the pace of work and Arab media cooperation.
He stressed that the Kingdom will continue to utilize all capabilities and contributions of its media institutions for cooperation with Arab brothers in strengthening joint Arab media work, introducing projects and visions related to media literacy and information strategy for dealing with international media and technology companies, among many efforts enhancing the Arab endeavor in various media sectors.
Regarding the role of media in supporting the Palestinian cause, Al-Momani reasserted that it is our central Arab and Islamic issue, around which all our media, political, and humanitarian efforts revolve to serve and defend it, highlighting the rights of the Palestinian people to establish their independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital, fighting duplicity and misinformation, and counteracting attempts to obscure the humanitarian aspect of this issue. This makes the responsibility on the Arab media significant and ongoing in defending the truth and leading the reality, facing all efforts that distort reality or misguide the focus, ensuring that Palestine remains the voice of global justice, and maintaining that resolving its issue fairly and comprehensively is fundamental to achieving regional peace and security.
Al-Momani also participated in a consultative meeting of the ministers, members of the Executive Bureau of the Council of Arab Ministers of Information, prior to the opening of the twenty-second session, where greater agreement on the agenda items was discussed.
On the sidelines of the meetings, Minister Al-Momani discussed with several counterparts, heads of the Arab delegations, ways to enhance media cooperation between Jordan and their countries, and coordinate positions on the issues discussed during the meetings.
During the meetings, they agreed on the need to build upon the media memoranda of understanding that join Jordan with these countries, expand the scope of bilateral cooperation, exchange expertise, and experiences in various media and communication fields, serving the multi-faceted media cooperation and enhancing the response and capabilities of Arab media.
