By the Numbers Public Security Destroys Large Quantities of Drugs in 148 Cases

Khaberni - The Anti-Narcotics Department in the Public Security Directorate, today, Wednesday, destroyed large quantities of drugs that had been seized in (148) different cases, involving trafficking, possession, and smuggling, following final judicial rulings against them.

The destroyed materials included about (11) million pills of Captagon, (60) kilograms of marijuana, (9000) drug pills, (100) grams of cocaine, (368) kilograms of hashish, (13) kilograms of qat, (4) kilograms of Joker powder, in addition to (11) kilograms of crystal meth.

The Public Security Directorate affirmed the ongoing operational efforts of the Anti-Narcotics Department around the clock, across various regions of the kingdom and border crossings, to firmly confront attempts to import or transit drugs through Jordanian territory, due to the direct threat they pose to the security and safety of the community.

It also indicated that these efforts are carried out in high coordination and integration with the Jordanian Armed Forces – Arab Army, and Jordan Customs, within the framework of joint work aimed at reducing the spread of drugs and their negative effects.

It should be noted that the destruction process was supervised by a special committee chaired by the Inspector General of the Public Security Directorate, including the Director of the Anti-Narcotics Department, the Director of the Laboratories and Criminal Evidence Department, and the State Security Court public prosecutor, where the destruction occurred inside special furnaces reaching temperatures up to one thousand degrees Celsius, to ensure their melting, disintegration, and complete stripping of their narcotic properties.
