Famous Egyptian Doctor Promotes Unusual Diet

Khaberni - The Egyptian doctor Diaa Al-Awadi has sparked widespread controversy after promoting what he called "Tayyibat System," a dietary regimen that relies on eliminating certain foods while depending exclusively on specific types he claims are a means to healing.
The system – according to Al-Awadi’s claims – is based on what he described as "Islamic fasting," involving fasting on Mondays and Thursdays, and three days each lunar month, or following intermittent fasting, eating only when feeling hungry and drinking water only when thirsty, without excessive consumption.

The list of foods allowed in the system – as circulated – includes grains like bran toast and rice, natural fats like olive oil, butter, and ghee, along with sugar, dates, and types of cheese such as cheddar, gouda, mozzarella, parmesan, and roomy, Egyptian rice and potatoes in various methods of preparation, corn, and some grains like bulgur and freekeh at spaced intervals.

The system also allows the consumption of all types of fruits and their juices, with a preference for certain kinds over others, and only consuming one type at a time, in addition to some desserts like cornstarch pudding and Qamar al-Din with water, canned juices – except for orange and mango – jams, dried fruits, and nuts, with certain types excluded.

The General Syndicate of Doctors announced taking disciplinary and legal actions against doctor Diaa Al-Awadi, after proving his dissemination of misleading and harmful medical information to public health via social media, containing opinions and therapeutic practices contrary to accepted scientific and medical standards.
