Norwegian Parliament Investigates Epsteins Connections with Royal Family and Foreign Ministry

Khaberni  - The Oversight and Constitutional Affairs Committee in the Norwegian Parliament has decided to form a committee to investigate new information related to the Jeffrey Epstein case and the resulting scandals within the royal family and the Foreign Ministry.

Altinget newspaper reported and said: "The Oversight and Constitutional Affairs Committee in the Norwegian Parliament (Storting) has decided to form an independent committee to investigate the circumstances of the Epstein case and its connections with the royal family and the Foreign Ministry, following a week of revelations about major scandals."

The newspaper pointed out that such investigations are rarely conducted in Parliament.

On February 1st, the VG newspaper reported that Princess Mette Marit, the Crown Princess of Norway, was mentioned more than a thousand times in new documents related to the Epstein case.

On Monday, the Norwegian Central Authority for Investigation and Prosecution of Economic and Environmental Crimes (Økokrim) announced the start of an investigation into the country's former ambassador to Jordan, Moni Gull, and her husband, the former diplomat Terje Rød-Larsen, for their connections with the financier. Gull is accused of corruption, while her husband is accused of complicity, and both have resigned from their positions immediately following the scandal.

It is worth noting that Jeffrey Epstein was a wealthy and prominent American financier who turned into a convicted individual known for crimes of sex trafficking and assaulting underage girls, establishing a wide network of relationships with influential figures in politics, business, and society. He died in his prison "by suicide" in 2019 while awaiting trial on serious federal charges, leaving behind a series of ongoing scandals and investigations.
