Khaberni - The Pyramids youth team, born 2007, experienced a regrettable accident today, Monday, due to an elevator fall inside a hotel in the city of Alexandria (northern Egypt), while the team was preparing for their match against Border Guard in the league competition.
Elevator Fall from the Fourth Floor Injures Pyramids Youth Players with Serious Wounds
Islam Shakry, the head of the youth sector at Pyramids Club, revealed the details of the incident in radio statements on "Mega FM," saying, "The 2007 team was preparing to face the Border Guard, and after the end of a technical lecture, the players took the elevator that fell from the fourth floor."
Shakry added, "The incident resulted in serious cases, indicating that the number of injured exceeded seven players, and the situation was extremely difficult, with cases of fainting and severe injuries among the youth team players."
He continued, "There was a state of panic among the rest of the players," describing what happened as "terrifying."
The youth sector head clarified that the Pyramids administration had sent an official letter to the Egyptian Football Association requesting to postpone the team's match against Border Guard, confirming that the association did not respond initially, before contacts between the club and the association officials in the past hours resulted in the rescheduling of the match.
Pyramids Discloses Painful Details of Elevator Accident
In an official statement, Hany Said, the sports director of Pyramids Club, said that according to medical reports received so far, the player Mohamed Attya Sayed Attya suffers from post-concussion fatigue, a bruise on the back, a fracture in the left forearm bones, besides a bruise on the left knee and left foot.
The statement added that the player Mohamed Abdel Ghani Abdel Halim suffers from post-concussion fatigue, with broken bones in the foot, ankle, and right leg, while the player Mohamed Yasser El-Sayed Moselhy suffers from post-concussion fatigue along with a foot injury.
It also pointed out that the player Hamza Al-Shazly Ahmad suffers from post-concussion fatigue, along with the player Mahmoud Karam Mohamed Mustafa, who also has a bruise on his left ankle.
Pyramids Club confirmed in its statement that it had submitted an official request to the Egyptian Football Association to postpone the league match against Border Guard, which was scheduled to take place today.
The statement concluded by affirming that the Egyptian Public Prosecution is currently investigating the circumstances of the incident, with full cooperation from the club with the relevant authorities, and no additional comments will be issued at this time until the investigations are completed and the official outcomes are disclosed.
Egyptian Football Association Supports Pyramids Following Elevator Accident
For its part, the Egyptian Football Association, in an official statement, expressed its full support and solidarity with Pyramids Club and the players of the 2007 team, confirming its ongoing monitoring of the players' health developments, and wishing them a speedy recovery and swift return to the fields.
The association appreciated the professional and responsible handling of the accident by the management of Pyramids and its technical and medical teams, renewing its commitment to supporting clubs and players, and ensuring a safe environment for playing football at various age stages.
