Khaberni - Her Majesty Queen Rania Al Abdullah inaugurated, on Monday, the Zaha Cultural Center in Aqaba Governorate, which is one of the twenty-five branches spread across the capital Amman and various governorates of the Kingdom.
Her Majesty toured the center, accompanied by Zaha Cultural Center's Executive Director, Rania Sabeeh and Aqaba branch manager Ahmad Kreishan, and listened to an explanation of the programs and activities involving children and women of the local community.
Her Majesty watched a demonstration in the center’s playground by children participating in karate training, and in the handicraft workshop, she reviewed products by women participating in empowerment programs that included pottery making and shaping. In the "Krameesh" hall designated for children aged three to six years old, she watched part of the programs implemented for financial and social culture.
The tour also included the Creative Thinking Hall, which featured programming and design of robots, and the multipurpose hall where ballet performances were presented, in addition to the early childhood play areas, where Her Majesty reviewed the play and learning environment designed for this age group.
In the outdoor courtyard, Her Majesty viewed an art exhibition that displayed outputs from a drawing group training.
In the center’s Psychological and Social Welfare Center, Her Majesty watched part of a workshop dedicated to women, visited the training room for a program that integrates mathematics and chess, as well as the computer room, and reviewed models of designing and manufacturing electronic games.
The Zaha Cultural Center, is part of the nobel Royal Initiatives projects, aimed at empowering children, adolescents, and women, and developing their creative, cognitive, and social skills in a safe and stimulating educational environment.
