Khaberni - "G42", a technology group based in Abu Dhabi, has signed a framework cooperation agreement with a Vietnamese consortium comprising the company "FBT" and "Viet Tai Group", aimed at developing sovereign national capabilities in artificial intelligence and a cloud computing infrastructure across Vietnam.
The initiative aims to support Vietnam's ambition to transform into an artificial intelligence-based society and to establish its position as a leading center in this field in Southeast Asia, ensuring sovereignty over national data and enhancing digital resilience.
The agreement was signed in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, aiming to establish a comprehensive partnership and create the necessary legal, financial and regulatory framework to support nationwide deployment operations.
The partners praised the Vietnamese government for its visionary approach to developing regulatory frameworks that enable the deployment of hyper-scale data centers and the adoption of public cloud computing, which enhances Vietnam's regional leadership position in developing artificial intelligence infrastructure.
This is supported by usage commitments valued at one billion dollars, making this partnership a pivotal milestone in the digital transformation journey in Vietnam and the region. This collaboration also enhances the integration of core capabilities enabling nationwide deployment operations.
FBT, the largest IT services company in Vietnam with activities in over 30 countries, will provide deep technical expertise and broad local market knowledge, while Viet Tai Group, a consumer-focused group with companies in the coffee, food services, retail and logistics sectors, will contribute strategic capabilities and multi-sectoral insights. "G42", an artificial intelligence holding group based in Abu Dhabi, complements this consortium by providing advanced capabilities in the field of artificial intelligence infrastructure.
Under the agreement, the consortium will work with "G42" to deploy substantial cloud capabilities across three data center locations in Vietnam, providing high-performance artificial intelligence and cloud computing services supporting workloads in both the public and private sectors.
This initiative aligns with the broader mission of the "G42" group to build a comprehensive and global intelligence network that connects advanced artificial intelligence architectures, cloud computing platforms, and governance frameworks, enabling on-demand artificial intelligence capabilities while respecting national sovereignty.
Vietnam will gain the technical foundation needed to develop national initiatives in the field of artificial intelligence across both public and private sectors, through this infrastructure, accelerating the digitization of services and deploying solutions based on artificial intelligence that align with national priorities.
Ali Al-Amin, the Commercial CEO of "G42" International, stated that this framework agreement represents an advanced model for national transformation in the field of artificial intelligence, based on sovereignty, strategic integration, and clarity of purpose, appreciating the visionary insights of the Vietnamese government and expressing pride in the partnership with "FBT" and "Viet Tai" in building infrastructure that enables Vietnam to fully leverage the potential of artificial intelligence, ensuring data sovereignty and enhancing digital independence.
Dr. Truong Gia Binh, the chairman of FBT, told the Emirates News Agency "WAM" that Vietnam clearly realizes that it cannot move forward alone, as in areas like semiconductors, artificial intelligence, cloud computing, big data, and cybersecurity, there is a clear need for strategic alliances with reliable partners that can be trusted, and the leaders have demonstrated a firm commitment and established mutual trust, and now is the time to translate these commitments into practical implementation on the ground.
David Tai, Chairman and CEO of Viet Tai Group, confirmed that this initiative places Vietnam at the forefront of the economic development track based on artificial intelligence in Asia, supporting economic growth and enhancing the expansion of the middle class in the country, as well as establishing the necessary infrastructure foundation for long-term growth and driving innovation across multiple sectors.
Besides developing the infrastructure, the partnership includes plans to support national programs aimed at building capacity and skills in the field of artificial intelligence, and promoting its widespread adoption across government entities, the industrial sector, and academic institutions.
Following the signing of the framework cooperation agreement, the consortium and "G42" will move to the next phase of implementation, which includes completing the distribution of workloads between the public and private sectors and completing the necessary regulatory procedures for the adoption of public cloud computing, along with the development of data center sites.
It is expected that this initiative will have a tangible economic impact through direct investments in infrastructure, job creation, and enhancing Vietnam's position as a strategic technological hub in the region.
