Khaberni - The Bahraini air defense systems have intercepted 174 ballistic missiles and 391 drones since the beginning of the war, as announced by the General Command of the Bahrain Defense Force on Sunday, confirming their continued efforts in countering successive waves of Iranian attacks targeting their territory.
The General Command urged citizens and residents to exercise the utmost caution and vigilance to ensure their safety, emphasizing the need to stay away from damaged sites and suspicious objects, not to photograph military operations or debris fall sites, and to avoid spreading rumors, relying on official sources and government media for information and alerts.
The command confirmed that targeting civilian objects and private properties with ballistic missiles and drones constitutes a blatant violation of international humanitarian law and the United Nations Charter, noting that these random attacks represent a direct threat to regional peace and security.
The war with Iran erupted on February 28, 2026, following extensive airstrikes by the United States and Israel targeting vital and military facilities and command centers in Tehran and several other cities, resulting in the death of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei on the first day, along with a number of senior officials and leaders, including the Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council Ali Larijani, and prominent leaders in the Revolutionary Guards.
