Jordan signs a 5 million grant memorandum from Japan

Khaberni - The governments of Jordan and Japan signed exchange memoranda regarding the provision of a grant worth 800 million Japanese yen (equivalent to five million US dollars), aimed at financing the purchase of modern medical devices and equipment for the benefit of the Royal Medical Services Directorate to treat patients and children being evacuated from the Gaza Strip and Jordanian patients, as part of the economic and social development program with the Japanese government.

The memorandum was signed on behalf of the Jordanian side by the Minister of Planning and International Cooperation, Zeina Toukan, and on the Japanese side by the Japanese Ambassador to the Kingdom, Asari Hideki, with the presence of the Director General of the Royal Medical Services, Brigadier Doctor Sahl Hamouri, and a number of officials from the Japanese Embassy in Amman.

Minister Toukan expressed Jordan's appreciation for the government and people of Japan for their continued support, especially in the health sector, affirming that this support enhances Jordan's ability to respond to critical and emergency situations and provide necessary treatment for patients and the injured coming from Gaza as part of the humanitarian efforts led by Jordan, in addition to improving the services provided by the Royal Medical Services to citizens.
