Crisis in the English Stands Over World Cup Tickets

Khaberni - The English Football Supporters’ Association revealed that the exorbitant prices for semi-final and final match tickets of the 2026 World Cup have hindered the complete sale of the English fans’ designated allocation, indicating a situation that the association finds worrying regarding the pricing policy adopted for the tournament.

The association explained that the prices for most of the tickets categorized as the cheapest have reached about $934 for the semi-final matches, and up to $4245 for the final match, considering these figures reflect an unprecedented rise in the cost of attending the World Cup matches, even in their crucial stages.
The FIFA was sharply criticized in a stern statement, pointing out that it is astonishing for FIFA to discover that fans might reject high prices regardless of the importance of the match.
It added that asking fans to pay thousands of pounds to attend a single football match represents unbearable greed, and conflicts with the spirit of the game and its popularity.
The English Football Supporters’ Association confirmed that the current pricing policy deprives even the most loyal fans, whether from England or fans of other national teams, from the chance to attend the matches, warning that the continuation of this approach might negatively reflect on the fan atmosphere which is an integral part of the World Cup’s value and global status.
