Why will Barcelona leave Camp Nou again

Khaberni  - The Spanish newspaper "Marca" disclosed the date for the completion of the development work at "Spotify Camp Nou", belonging to the Barcelona club.

The Spanish newspaper said today, Saturday, that the club is racing against time to complete the development of the stadium, but this will not happen before another two seasons.

It added that the first and second tiers of the stadium had already been completed, along with 5 VIP lounges, indicating that the stadium had passed the first phase of construction, which will allow it to add seating for 62,657 spectators.

"Marca" continued that Barcelona seeks to obtain approval from the municipality of Barcelona city to allow increasing the seats in the stadium's third tier next season.

It added that increasing the seats gradually will also allow the club to add more VIP lounges next season, which are considered an important source of income for the club.

Currently, about 3,000 workers are involved in building the VIP areas and the third tier, which is a massive project that will last throughout the whole of next season. However, coach Hansi Flick's team will continue to play in the stadium uninterrupted as construction of 9,400 VIP seats will continue through the end of the 2026-2027 season.

The final phase of the project completion will take four months, but it will force Flick's team to move away from the stadium as the stadium's roof, which will cover the entire stadium, will be installed — an event that will prevent fans from entering the stadium since Barcelona will not begin the 2027-2028 season in this stadium.
